At MASECO Asia, we provide expert guidance to American citizens living in Hong Kong as well as financial advisors, trustees and foundations. We support their cross-border wealth management needs, either advising them directly or working alongside their other trusted advisers.
MASECO Asia Limited was founded in 2016 due to strong market demand for a company with deep knowledge of the challenges faced by American expatriates around the world. The rapidly changing political landscape has made many facets of expatriate life exasperating. Tasks as simple as opening a bank account have become untenable. Individuals struggle to find an investment solution that does not come with excessive costs, tax penalties or other complexities. We believe in creating robust solutions rooted in simplicity, transparency and tax efficiency.
Our founding partners gained valuable experience with MASECO Private Wealth (MPW), a separate and independent entity, which helped to lay the foundation for their move into Asia. Before transitioning to Hong Kong, they worked in the MPW London office for over 6 years and were instrumental in the company’s success during that time. Moreover, as US expatriates themselves, they have a deep and personal understanding of the multi-jurisdictional issues that come with living in one of the most diverse and dynamic cities in the world.
While MASECO Asia Limited and MASECO Private Wealth are separate entities, they are aligned in their values and their desire to deliver the highest quality solutions for their American clients. MASECO Private Wealth has been advising American families since 2008 and manages over $1.7 billion in primarily US client assets. They are a recognized thought leader in the US expatriate wealth management space.
Our aim is to bring this same level of expertise and knowledge to Hong Kong and broader Asia to serve the large American population as well as local residents or others with cross-border planning concerns.
